Technical Sales Manager – EAST COAST

Adarza BioSystems, Inc. is an exciting early-stage commercial company based in Maryland Heights, MO developing label-free protein microarray assays based on the Company’s proprietary Arrayed Imaging Reflectometry (AIR™) technology. We are currently seeking an early career product development scientist to join our manufacturing team. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple workflows as part of a rapidly growing company with sights set on impacting research in life sciences and clinical diagnostics.

Job Description:

To support our full commercialization launch in 2020, we are seeking a talented and highly motivated Technical Sales Specialist to join our growing organization. This position will be part of our Sales and Marketing team. This role will be responsible for the U.S. East coast territory area selling the ZIVA platform (instruments and assays) in the research use only life science market (pharma/biopharma, academia, government, and CROs). The ideal candidate will come with immunoassay instrument and reagent experience and established relationships with a proven track record of success.  He or she will be responsible for supporting the go-to-market plan for our new platform launch and building the pipeline for 2020 and executing on it. This role requires familiarity with current immunoassay platforms and must be able to convincingly articulate the benefits of ZIVA technology and its unique benefits and capabilities.  The new launch requires the individual to prospect new customers, working very closely with strategic marketing to build lead generation and a strong pipeline of opportunities. This position requires close collaboration with all business units including marketing, R&D, production, and QA.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • 7+ years sales experience in life science research tools and/or analytical instrumentation
  • Strong sales track record
  • Experience selling immunoassay instrumentation strongly preferred
  • Experience selling capital equipment (above $50K)
  • Experience selling novel, ground-breaking technologies and acting as both sales and technical specialist
  • Based in the California area
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage territory and key accounts within the territory
  • Experience in explaining technical equipment capabilities, and performing technical demonstrations
  • Structure, negotiate, and close early adopter and commercial contracts to support the business sales targets
  • Support the product development pipeline by conveying customer needs and effectively communicating to senior leadership market feedback, trends and needs
  • Lead and/or participate in key customer sales activities including seminars, tradeshows, and demo-training
  • Work closely with strategic marketing to plan and execute marketing communication plans to drive success for 2020 and beyond

Compensation: The successful candidate will be paid a competitive compensation package commensurate with the important responsibilities of this role, including base salary, sales incentives & commission
